HIGH BEECH RIDING SCHOOL is a long established, family run Riding School that offers lessons and forest hacking to riders of all abilities from beginner through to advanced. We are BHS and ABRS approved and have a small team of full time grooms and qualified Instructors that care for the horses and look after our clients requirements.
We are currently interviewing for 2025/26 Level 2/3 NVQ Apprentices who are looking to learn as they earn! There are two Apprentice Groom positions currently available to work alongside our existing team caring for our 20+ horses and helping assist Instructors with lessons and forest walkouts. The work is varied and whilst daily routines will consist of regular mucking out, grooming, feeding and turn out there will be other duties to assist with your studies such as assisting with vets visits, helping with the farrier, clipping, worming and field maintenance. Riding lessons will be available and for those doing the ridden qualification they will be regularly scheduled in to support the course requirements.
We operate respectable working hours for an equestrian establishment, 9am-6pm weekdays and 8am-6pm weekends. We close every Tuesday, Friday as well as Bank Holidays. As well as Mondays and Wednesdays and Thursdays you will be expected to work a weekend day - study time will be incorporated in your working week whether that be on site or a day at college depending upon the course/college selected.
The positions are paid at minimum hourly wage for a 30 hour week and attract paid holiday in line with the hours worked/accrued.
We are looking for somebody who is passionate about horses with a commitment and drive to further their equestrian education whether within an Instructional environment such as ours or looking to go on into another sector such as Stud, Racing or Welfare. We can help further your knowledge dealing with a variety of horses and covering a vast range of daily health and care maintenance giving valuable hands on experience to take with you into any equestrian career. You will need to be efficient and reliable and able to follow instructions working independently as well as part of a team. You will also need to be flexible as working times / days may vary and have a pleasant outgoing friendly manner in order to interact with our many clients that visit the yard daily.
